Our Mural. The Last Goal
When building our newest location, we came up with the idea of a feature wall with a mural depicting a historical Manitoba event. The problem was determining what event would be most significant and very easily identifiable to most Winnipegers and Manitobans. The answer came on a car ride to a friends when our son shouted out, "Why don't you do the last goal." His thought was perfect.
During that summer on a family vacation into Ontario, we met a tourist Camp Operator who was an ardent Winnipeg Jets hockey fan. I asked him about a display he had in his office commemorating the Winnipeg Jets last season. He told us that he had attended most games from the Jet's very first season in the W.H.A. and sat in the same seat behind the goal. He had taken his camera to the last NHL playoff game played in Winnipeg and by luck took what was the last goal ever scored by the Winnipeg Jets.

To most Winnipegers and Manitobans, losing the Winnipeg Jets was very difficult. The outpouring and support with the "Save the Jets Campaign" showed the true character of the people of this province. How in the face of diversity people joined together in a common cause and put their best foot forward in order to save the hockey team from moving.
We are happy and proud to present this historic Manitoba moment on our feature wall at our Auto Mall of Manitoba location at the corner of Waverley Street and Bishop Grandin Boulevard.
